Send a Book to a Soldier from Press 53

Press 53 has an event going on its Facebook page and on its Press 53 website called “Buy a Press 53 Book, and We’ll Send a Book to a Soldier.”  It is a great cause, and I ask all friends and family to support the cause.   Press 53 is a small commercial press based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and it is doing great things.
The event will begin June 2 and run until Flag Day on June 14.  The location will be online at Press 53.
From now until Flag Day, June 14, buy a book at and we will send another book to a soldier in your name at no additional cost to you.
Here’s how it works. Let’s say you buy a copy of our gold medal-winning anthology Home of the Brave: Stories in Uniform, featuring stories by Mary Akers, Kurt Vonnegut, Hannah Huber, Tobias Wolff and many others. We will also send a copy of Home of the Brave: Stories in Uniform to an active duty soldier as a gift in your name at no additional cost.

Choose from any of our 50-plus titles before Flag Day, June 14, at, and we will send a copy of the same book to an active duty soldier in your name.   Soldiers will be selected from
